Welcome

Peter and I have shared scores of outdoor adventures. We have similar organizational skills and the same enthusiasm for simple pleasures. Tending to stick close to home (New Denver, Slocan Valley) we rarely stray  outside the Kootenay region. Most outings span a few hours. Few demand more than average fitness levels. We plan to post accounts of some. We hope you enjoy them and maybe get inspired to see some of these places for yourself. (Just get clear on who is carrying the thermos.)

Won’t you join our thermos time adventures?

A constant element on all our forays is Peter's Unovac thermos. It impressed me that 1st chilly February day  on Bannock Cliffs. (Having recently returned from a trip where I had to carry everything I needed for 1000 km, anyone willing to pack it and then share contents got my attention.

We joke that if Jesus had a Unovac on the day of the loaves and fishes, his miracle would have ended with hot drinks all around. It seems on occasions to be bottomless. It stays hot for a really long time. I carry treats but they are lighter and less bulky. Hooray for the thermos carrier!
