Welcome! ...and Monday, December 01st

What's New!

November 22, 2005

I just put up a new gallery called Villages in the Mist, mostly pics of Cumshewa and Skedans abandoned Haida Villages on Moresby and Louise Islands, Haida Gwaii.

November, 2005

I didn't put an exact date above because I'm in the midst of an ongoing renovation of this site. Recently it moved from one server to another and some services aren't available at the new host. I also recently found a cache of old photos that I had been seeking for a couple years at least and have been able to start scanning them and posting some. The first order of business is the addition of some photo galleries to the music area. To check this stuff out go here and follow the new links. There is more to come soon, now that it is more indoor type weather (there's a skiff of snow on the lawn this morning). The next addition will be some photos from a kayak trip on Haida Gwaii including visits to some abandoned Haida villages from the early seventies.

Older material from the front page here is available in the archives.

Stay Tuned!

              (What's old?)

April 3, 2005

What's new is that I'm finally getting around to bringing my website up to date. I won't be putting up under construction signs, hopefully everything will stay accessible as I am updating throughout the site. The old stuff from my front page will also remain available and can be accessed by going to the archives

It has been a strange spring hereabouts. As winter was ending the weather here was warm and sunny but since spring started we've been having cool weather and rain or snow. I'm not complaining though as we need any moisture we can get or the summer could be too dry leading to water shortages and/or wild fires.

This spring has also been unique as there will obviously be no Stanley Cup playoffs this year. The BC teams in the Western Hockey League have been doing a good job of making up for that though. The Vancouver Giants and Kelowna Rockets are having an exciting playoff series, as are the Kootenay Ice and Kamloops Blazers. Canadians love hockey in general and many are getting into the playoffs leading to the Memorial Cup, which is a highly competitive brand of hockey unsullied by Gary Bettman or the NHLPA. Perhaps one of the problems with the NHL has been the effort to establish teams in cities that basically have little or no understanding or love of the sport. It is very likely that the Pacific Coliseum will be sold out tonight when the Giants meet the Rockets in a do or die game 6 for the Giants. Gary Bettman claims that the business end of hockey needs to be changed for the NHL to survive. Maybe if the economics was more based on fan interest in the game than selling franchises to any billionaire with money for the existing owners we would have teams in Winnipeg and Saskachewan, rather than Nashville and Arizona.

That's enough for now here. I'm going to be updating and renovating all over the site, but first in line are the links , ragsmag , mp3 page and the weather page, because the Canadian weather service changed their links.

Happy Canada DayEveryone!

It's Canada Day and later today I'm off to Kaslo for the 30th Anniversary ofthe Salvation of the Langham. The festivities are this weekend, but as I'llbe playing with my old band from the '70s, I'm going over early so we canrun through some of our old material. At least one and perhaps as many asthree of the original members that I haven't seen in years will be coming totown for the occasion.

The newest thing around here today is the heading right above where you are reading this. Pretty much ever since this site has existed I've used Javascript to tailor my greeting to you according to what time of day it is where you are. This afternoon I added a bit of PHP to let you know what day it is in my part of the world.

There are also some new links and pics on the music page
Also, a JavaScript powered form that will tell you your fortune - if you dare

New for the end of February 2003

A Visitor's Page where you can leave your comments on the website. If you leave a valid e-mail address I can reply or answer any questions.

Old Everyday Stuff

Welcome to my homepage, my name is Randall (or Randy) Kewen and this is where I live in cyberspace, at present anyway. The navigation buttons to the left lead to various places and/or pages that interest me.

You may think that I have banner ads on my webpages; if this is the case, though, you're just not looking very closely. The banners on this and many of my other pages are from <valleyofthegeeks.com>. You can go there to peruse more of their humor by clicking on the banners.

Most pages have little content at present, but I wanted to set the site up to accommodate more stuff later. If you have any difficulties, comments, complaints, or questions please let me know. Myriad means of getting in touch are to be found on the "Contact" page.
