Welcome! ...and Monday, December 01stWhat's New!November 22, 2005I just put up a new gallery called Villages in the Mist, mostly pics of Cumshewa and Skedans abandoned Haida Villages on Moresby and Louise Islands, Haida Gwaii.November, 2005I didn't put an exact date above because I'm in the midst of an ongoing renovation of this site. Recently it moved from one server to another and some services aren't available at the new host. I also recently found a cache of old photos that I had been seeking for a couple years at least and have been able to start scanning them and posting some. The first order of business is the addition of some photo galleries to the music area. To check this stuff out go here and follow the new links. There is more to come soon, now that it is more indoor type weather (there's a skiff of snow on the lawn this morning). The next addition will be some photos from a kayak trip on Haida Gwaii including visits to some abandoned Haida villages from the early seventies.Older material from the front page here is available in the archives.
Stay Tuned!
April 3, 2005What's new is that I'm finally getting around to bringing my website up to date. I won't be putting up under construction signs, hopefully everything will stay accessible as I am updating throughout the site. The old stuff from my front page will also remain available and can be accessed by going to the archivesIt has been a strange spring hereabouts. As winter was ending the weather here was warm and sunny but since spring started we've been having cool weather and rain or snow. I'm not complaining though as we need any moisture we can get or the summer could be too dry leading to water shortages and/or wild fires. This spring has also been unique as there will obviously be no Stanley Cup playoffs this year. The BC teams in the Western Hockey League have been doing a good job of making up for that though. The Vancouver Giants and Kelowna Rockets are having an exciting playoff series, as are the Kootenay Ice and Kamloops Blazers. Canadians love hockey in general and many are getting into the playoffs leading to the Memorial Cup, which is a highly competitive brand of hockey unsullied by Gary Bettman or the NHLPA. Perhaps one of the problems with the NHL has been the effort to establish teams in cities that basically have little or no understanding or love of the sport. It is very likely that the Pacific Coliseum will be sold out tonight when the Giants meet the Rockets in a do or die game 6 for the Giants. Gary Bettman claims that the business end of hockey needs to be changed for the NHL to survive. Maybe if the economics was more based on fan interest in the game than selling franchises to any billionaire with money for the existing owners we would have teams in Winnipeg and Saskachewan, rather than Nashville and Arizona. That's enough for now here. I'm going to be updating and renovating all over the site, but first in line are the links , ragsmag , mp3 page and the weather page, because the Canadian weather service changed their links.
July 1, 2004Happy Canada DayEveryone! It's Canada Day and later today I'm off to Kaslo for the 30th Anniversary ofthe Salvation of the Langham. The festivities are this weekend, but as I'llbe playing with my old band from the '70s, I'm going over early so we canrun through some of our old material. At least one and perhaps as many asthree of the original members that I haven't seen in years will be coming totown for the occasion.
