While CondoHawk herself bounces around Europe and the Middle East, on what Maureen Dowd refers to as an

tour the Israelis continue to pound targets all over Lebanon. Of course the IAF took a break on bombing Beirut while
Bush's dip According to the AP, "BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - Hezbollah inflicted heavy casualties on Israeli troops as they battled for a key hilltop town in southern Lebanon for a fourth day Wednesday, with as many as 14 soldiers reported killed. Lebanese officials, meanwhile, confirmed that four U.N. observers were killed by an Israeli airstrike on their post Tuesday night."Them nasty terra-ists, killing more soldiers, while the IAF kills civilians by the hundreds, all over Lebanon, and not just in the south, along the Israeli border. from Haaretz Ze'ev Maoz, a professor of political science at Tel Aviv university, published in yesterday's edition of Haaretz Morality is not on our side. It's refreshing to see that not everyone in Israel thinks that their security depends on their killing off all their opposition by warfare or starvation. There's practically a holy consensus right now that the war in the North is a just war and that morality is on our side. The bitter truth must be said: this holy consensus is based on short-range selective memory, an introverted worldview, and double standards. The quote of the day for the New York Times (Registration Required) is: "Obviously, the violence in Baghdad is still terrible, and therefore there needs to be more troops." - PRESIDENT BUSH Probably not the direction the (P)resident hoped to have troops moving this summer, leading into the mid-terms. This may push Bush over the edge, making him try to surpass even a "war President" by becoming a WAR GOD, or America's own little Ares. Down with the Urinary Expletive! Monday, July 24, 2006![]() No thanks to the Bu$h Crime Family or the modern day Nazis, who just happen to be Jewish, the nuclear sun hasn't risen in the Middle East yet. Israel continues to rain destruction on all parts of Lebanon, Hizbollah inclined or not. I for one think that the warmongering Zionists running the government of Israel have just about used up the good will earned by their ancestors suffering under the Nazis. All nations in the world with the conspicuous exception of Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom have been calling for a ceasefire for days, but apparently the Israelis haven't killed enough innocent Lebanese or destroyed enough of the infrastructure of the country, yet. Meanwhile, the Turks are massing on the Iraq border, heck if Israel, the UK and the US can pre-emptively attack anyone they want, why not the Turks? Farther east Pakistan is Expanding their Nuclear Program "South Asia may be heading for a nuclear arms race that could lead to arsenals growing into the hundreds of nuclear weapons, or at minimum, vastly expanded stockpiles of military fissile material,"A note from Europe: Italian court demands CIA extraditions "ROME: An Italian court has requested the extradition of 26 CIA agents for their alleged role in the abduction of a Egyptian Muslim cleric in 2003, the Repubblica newspaper reported on Friday. The court in Milan, which is leading the investigation, sent an extradition request to the public prosecutor’s office which would then pass it to Justice Minister Clemente Mastella, the daily said. Mastella should then in turn send it to his US counterpart. He's not impressed either.George the First Idiot Bush just got a ringing endorsement from the Godfather of Conservatism. The top "adult" conservative had this to say about the (P)resident. President Bush suffers from "the absence of effective conservative ideology," and that on foreign policy "There will be no legacy for Mr. Bush....his legacy is indecipherable." It's hot and glassy here in Paradise, today. Even if the idiots destroy the world tomorrow, they can't stop me from enjoying it today. Tuesday, July 18, 2006Bush Gropes Germany's Merkel
![]() America's Juvenile in Chief (and Steven Harper's hero) shows once again as Taylor Marsh points out " why Iraq and the Middle East are in flames, and we have no credibility around the world. We have a prepubescent president in charge. It is an outrage."For more pictures of the Chimp's sneak grope attack on the Chancellor of Germany see the posting at Taylor's blog. She also has some commentary about it from various sources including right wing-nuts who see nothing wrong with the President of the United States making an insensitive clown of himself all over Europe during the last few days. One commentator said he was disappointed that he didn't get to see the German Secret Service equivalent smack down boy-George. I'll second that! If I ever was able to sneak up behind the Chimp, I wouldn't be rubbing his shoulders. He won't be embarrassing America much longer over there as he has to rush home to be ready to veto (yep VETO) the stem cell research legislation expected to come out of Congress this week. Just in case some folks thought it was getting a bit slow in the Middle East these days check out this headline. Turkey signals it's prepared to enter Iraq
ANKARA, Turkey - Turkish officials signaled Tuesday they are prepared to send the army into northern Iraq if U.S. and Iraqi forces do not take steps to combat Turkish Kurdish guerrillas there — a move that could put Turkey on a collision course with the United States.I'm sorry Syria and Iran, you may have to wait in line. All countries in the Middle East please take a number, the United States and Israel can't deal with you all at once. Indeed the United States is finding it difficult to even assist their own citizens in evacuating Lebanon. Sounds kinda like Katrina, Middle East version, to me! Monday, July 17, 2006"Measured," my ass!
Our leader, while taller and smarter than boy-King George, still suffers from Bu$h hero worship and mental
constipation. A couple days ago the score was - killed by Israeli forces in Gaza and Lebanon - approximately 300 almost all civilians compared to killed by Hizbollah just over two dozen, about half of which were military. It would appear to me that Israeli forces aren't the ones using the most care in targeting. Lebanon is full of Americans and Europeans as well as thousands of Canadians, and Israeli bombing of highways, bridges and airports as well as blockading the coast, isn't designed to make it easy for foreign nationals to get out of harm's way. While some countries have already been helping their citizens get out of Lebanon, like France, the best Harp boy and gum-boot Mckay can come up with is maybe by mid week something can start happening vis-a-vis evacuating Canadians. Until then, or whenever, gum-boot Pete sez for Canadians to just keep their heads down and hope the F-16s are busy killing other civilians.
![]() Once upon a time Palestine and Lebanon were home to Muslims, Christians and Jews and they all lived in peace and harmony. Then the Jewish state of Israel was created and the displacement and killing hasn't hardly taken a breather since. Thursday, July 13, 2006Summertime, and the living.....Around these parts summer arrived right on schedule. Ever since the occurance of the celestial event that triggers the change of season, we have been enjoying summer weather. It's difficult to even keep up with the news much less publish my views of this silly old world and the silly and/or downright scary actions of our "leaders." Operation Ironclad
"East Germany is sealed off again with barbed wire, tanks, warships and fighter planes."No, it's not the return of the iron curtain, and the World Cup is over - but what did the Italian defender say, anyway? - nope, it's just that hick from Crawford is visiting. Dubya ain't too popular in these parts, according to this article 84% of the locals loathe him. 12,000 police will be deployed to protect him when he visits and dines with Chancellor Merkel in the town where she grew up in East Germany. That is four times as many officers as were required during the World Cup games. The residents have to stay in their homes while boy George is in town and their vehicles will need to be parked 11 kilometers out of town during that time as well. Giving Christ a bad name
The Reverend Dr. Bill Lawson compared Lay with civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. and Jesus Christ, and said his name would eventually be cleared.Yep, that's Kenny Boy Lay, the one who.... " was found guilty of 10 counts of conspiracy, fraud, and misusing personal bank loans on May 25 and was facing decades in prison at his sentencing, which was scheduled for Oct. 23."quotes - Ken Lay Compared to Jesus, MLK Jr.
I'm sure that Kenny Boy and all his Enron buddies had some higher purpose when they
were robbing little old ladies and gaming the electrical power market in California and elsewhere.
Update Maybe I was being too hard on the dear departed Kenny-boy after all:
a man can’t be all bad who, just recently, bought his wife a $200,000 yacht, despite court judgments requiring he pay back tens of millions he filched from the yacht-less.thanks to Greg Palast from Ken Lay’d to Rest Friday, June 16, 2006Perverts Against Bush!
Hello, my name is Brian Doyle
He is a: "nice guy but not a good president ... he is not very bright and it is evident ... bush is a liar ... there were NO weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. total lie to go to war."I guess this is where we have to put -
"My name is George W. Bush and I approved the hiring of this
man to pertect my feller Amuricans. I must say though that now I am disturbed that he doesn't
show enough respect for the suit I am wearing." Oxymoron Redux! I don't know, but maybe I should start a comedy page called "Conservative Thinking."

Repuglicans across the land are rejoicing over President Bush's alleged resurgence this week. "He's back," they say. "The Comeback Kid," they're calling him. One right wing columnist, Clark S. Judge, went so far as to say that "the president just had the best week of his second term, perhaps of his entire presidency...." and talks of Bush's "stunning new momentum" that's "proving a transformative success on the domestic as well as international front." Excuse me, but I seem to have missed the memo outlining Bush's big accomplishes this week. As usual, the bar is set so low for this president that all he needs to do is show a pulse and we're supposed to declare a national holiday in his honor.Follow the title link to read the rest of this posting at the Ostroy Report. The stated mission, and a worthy one it is, of the Ostroy report is, according to them: The Ostroy Report is a fresh, aggressive answer to the powerful Right Wing spin machine. We take on Bush, the Republican Party and the conservative media. Our mission is to help Democrats regain the White House and Congress.I wish there was a better option than the Democrats (too often "in name only"), but anything would be an improvment over Bu$hCo and their never ending assault on Americans' money, privacy, freedoms, and the rapidly sinking reputation of the United States in the world. Meanwhile, ongoing and active is

June 15, 2006![]() Digger, one of the resident genii, I presume, sez: "First of all the border security and law enforcement in the Senate bill is a joke, The guest worker program is an amnesty and it is even admitted in the following portion of that sentence where it legalizes illegals. How can one argue with such inciteful expression of idiocy. Nothing like right-wing whacko websights, expecially ones that site their facts. I love watching the Repulsive Party argue with itself over immigration, specifically "cheap labor" immigration of the Mexican kind. Lets face it, less and less people from most places have any desire to come to Amerika to serve the boy-King, it has to be really bad where ever immigrants are coming from or else they would stay home. June 14, 2006Rove "Cleared?"Somehow the unsubstatiated claim/statement "On June 12, 2006, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald formally advised us that he does not anticipate seeking charges against Karl Rove."by "Gold Bars" Luskin, legal defender of the porcine Naturally the Repulsive Party considers this a victory, right up there with killing Zarquawi. This frees Rove to put aside his fears about prison and get back to sliming the political opposition. Now that he has apparently been cut loose, he immediately goes on the attack, accusing the dems, particularly Kerry and Murtha, both combat veterans of course, of wanting to cut and run in Iraq. Kerry spokesman, David Wade, points out that: "The closest Karl Rove ever came to combat, was these last months spent worrying his cellmates might rough him up in prison. This porcine political operative can't cut and run from the truth any longer."Although his attorney in very carefully worded statements tries to convince the public that Karl has not now, nor ever, been involved in any "deal" with the Special Prosecutor, many who oppose the Neo-Con dream for America, see this latest Luskin move as a sign that the Fitz has set his sights on Dead-Eye Dick and little porky Karl will have to co-operate or face charges, "anticipated" or not. I like to think that Patrick Fitzgerald anticipates that Karl will continue to be the font of information that he has been during his five (count 'em, FIVE) speaking engagements before the grand jury. emptywheel's take on the Luskin announcement is here. In Editor and Publisher, Peter Yost of Associated Press says that Rove has managed to get away with misleading the press. "In 2003, while Rove allowed the White House to tell the news media that he had no role in leaking Valerie Plame's CIA identity, the presidential aide was secretly telling the FBI the truth."As the picture above shows, Karl Rove is thumbing his nose at everyone and everything. the Constitution the American People the Press Justice Pretty much everyone except his little buddy, the idiot non-savant hisself. Maybe the caption of that pic should be - "Dick, this raspberry's for you!" Good News Department This from The Progress Report "Though the neoconservative Project for a New American Century is reportedly on the verge of shutting its doors, the group "has been inactive since January 2005" when the group's leadership, such as William Kristol, "began attacking" fellow PNAC founder Donald Rumsfeld for his management of the Iraq war. "Such a shame, reality got in the way of their dream of a "New American Century." How typical for them to slink away, they'll probably be hard to find when it's time to clean up their mess. Or maybe they'll be busy dealing with the real problems facing America, like gay marriage and/or the Hispanic hordes at the gate. June 1, 2006As I was saying
![]() Shortly after posting Oh Steve Can You See(just archived) I came across this posting by Dave over at the Galloping Beaver. Dave points out that on October 14, 2003, the Washington Post carried this. The Bush administration, displeased with the news coverage of the war in Iraq, has accelerated efforts to bypass the national media by telling the administration's story directly to the American public. How come I'm not surprised that on May 24, just past, the embarrassing National Post under this headline
shared with us this information? He (Harper) told a London, Ont., TV station Wednesday that he is having problems with the media that a Liberal prime minister would never have to face.He is petulant enough to say this after getting a free ride through the election and mostly propaganda transmission with no hard questions since taking office as the first minority "dictator" in Canadian history.
In the dying days of the last election campaign, Paul Martin's staff grumbled that reporters were out to get them and were working to elect Harper. Go Figger! Iraq vet sues Michael Moore for $85m "It was kind of almost like the enemy was using me for propaganda," Damon told the television station. "What soldier wants to be involved in that? I didn't lose my arms over there to be used as ammunition against my commander-in-chief." I'm sorry Mr. Damon got injured over in Iraq supporting king-George's ill concieved policies. However I assume that his current pleadings indicate he'll plead guilty when the war crime trials come around. Everyone should try to remember that "I was just following orders" didn't carry much legal weight at Nuremburg. I do think however that the war crimes case has more merit than this "frivolous" suit that seems to be more about film editing than anything anyone actually ever said. His current statements and the lawsuit itself seem to prove he was completely with the program then and now.
