While CondoHawk herself bounces around Europe and the Middle East, on what Maureen Dowd refers to as an "Air Guitar Diplomacy" tour the Israelis continue to pound targets all over Lebanon. Of course the IAF took a break on bombing Beirut while Bush's dipshitplomat was in what's left of town. Yesterday they added U.N. observation outposts to their list of targets killing four observers, one each from Austria, China, Finland and Canada. Kofi Annan insists that the outpost was intentionally targetted. Are you watching and listening Stephen?

According to the AP,

"BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) - Hezbollah inflicted heavy casualties on Israeli troops as they battled for a key hilltop town in southern Lebanon for a fourth day Wednesday, with as many as 14 soldiers reported killed. Lebanese officials, meanwhile, confirmed that four U.N. observers were killed by an Israeli airstrike on their post Tuesday night."

Ze'ev Maoz, a professor of political science at Tel Aviv university, published in yesterday's edition of Haaretz Morality is not on our side. It's refreshing to see that not everyone in Israel thinks that their security depends on their killing off all their opposition by warfare or starvation.

There's practically a holy consensus right now that the war in the North is a just war and that morality is on our side. The bitter truth must be said: this holy consensus is based on short-range selective memory, an introverted worldview, and double standards.

This war is not a just war. Israel is using excessive force without distinguishing between civilian population and enemy, whose sole purpose is extortion. That is not to say that morality and justice are on Hezbollah's side. Most certainly not. But the fact that Hezbollah "started it" when it kidnapped soldiers from across an international border does not even begin to tilt the scales of justice toward our side.

Probably not the direction the (P)resident hoped to have troops moving this summer, leading into the mid-terms. This may push Bush over the edge, making him try to surpass even a "war President" by becoming a WAR GOD, or America's own little Ares. Down with the Urinary Expletive!

No thanks to the Bu$h Crime Family or the modern day Nazis, who just happen to be Jewish, the nuclear sun hasn't risen in the Middle East yet. Israel continues to rain destruction on all parts of Lebanon, Hizbollah inclined or not. I for one think that the warmongering Zionists running the government of Israel have just about used up the good will earned by their ancestors suffering under the Nazis. All nations in the world with the conspicuous exception of Israel, the United States and the United Kingdom have been calling for a ceasefire for days, but apparently the Israelis haven't killed enough innocent Lebanese or destroyed enough of the infrastructure of the country, yet.

Meanwhile, the Turks are massing on the Iraq border, heck if Israel, the UK and the US can pre-emptively attack anyone they want, why not the Turks? Farther east Pakistan is Expanding their Nuclear Program

America's Juvenile in Chief (and Steven Harper's hero) shows once again as Taylor Marsh points out

Turkey signals it's prepared to enter Iraq

ANKARA, Turkey - Turkish officials signaled Tuesday they are prepared to send the army into northern Iraq if U.S. and Iraqi forces do not take steps to combat Turkish Kurdish guerrillas there — a move that could put Turkey on a collision course with the United States.

Turkey is facing increasing domestic pressure to act after 15 soldiers, police and guards were killed fighting the guerrillas in southeastern Turkey in the past week.

Sounds kinda like Katrina, Middle East version, to me!

Our leader, while taller and smarter than boy-King George, still suffers from Bu$h hero worship and mental constipation. While most world leaders expressed concern that Israel's response to the capture of a couple Israeli soldiers (that's soldiers, get it?) was a little "disproportionate" at the least, if not right over the top, our Stevie tore himself away from being amused by Georgie's silly antics in Russia long enough to say he felt Israel's actions were measured and reasonable. I guess he might be using the lives of Canadian children as a unit of measurement as Israeli F-16s were bombing a family farmhouse in Southern Lebanon and killing an entire family from Montreal. Mommy, daddy and children aged one, three, six and eight were all killed along with some other relatives, the exact number varies from 7 to 9 depending on what report is being read.

A couple days ago the score was - killed by Israeli forces in Gaza and Lebanon - approximately 300 almost all civilians compared to killed by Hizbollah just over two dozen, about half of which were military. It would appear to me that Israeli forces aren't the ones using the most care in targeting. Lebanon is full of Americans and Europeans as well as thousands of Canadians, and Israeli bombing of highways, bridges and airports as well as blockading the coast, isn't designed to make it easy for foreign nationals to get out of harm's way. While some countries have already been helping their citizens get out of Lebanon, like France, the best Harp boy and gum-boot Mckay can come up with is maybe by mid week something can start happening vis-a-vis evacuating Canadians. Until then, or whenever, gum-boot Pete sez for Canadians to just keep their heads down and hope the F-16s are busy killing other civilians.

Once upon a time Palestine and Lebanon were home to Muslims, Christians and Jews and they all lived in peace and harmony. Then the Jewish state of Israel was created and the displacement and killing hasn't hardly taken a breather since.

Around these parts summer arrived right on schedule. Ever since the occurance of the celestial event that triggers the change of season, we have been enjoying summer weather. It's difficult to even keep up with the news much less publish my views of this silly old world and the silly and/or downright scary actions of our "leaders."

I mean with all his money and connections going to jail would be so gauche and inappropriate, especially for the current incarnation of Jesus and Martin Luther King.

Somehow the unsubstatiated claim/statement

Naturally the Repulsive Party considers this a victory, right up there with killing Zarquawi. This frees Rove to put aside his fears about prison and get back to sliming the political opposition. Now that he has apparently been cut loose, he immediately goes on the attack, accusing the dems, particularly Kerry and Murtha, both combat veterans of course, of wanting to cut and run in Iraq. Kerry spokesman, David Wade, points out that:

"The closest Karl Rove ever came to combat, was these last months spent worrying his cellmates might rough him up in prison. This porcine political operative can't cut and run from the truth any longer."

In Editor and Publisher, Peter Yost of Associated Press says that Rove has managed to get away with misleading the press.

"It's now known that Rove had discussed Plame's CIA employment with conservative columnist Robert Novak, who exposed her identity less than a week later, citing two unidentified senior administration officials."
