Austin Texas hosts an annual fesitival which attracts poets from all over the globe, including yours truly. Just click on the Austin International Poetry Festival.

A new Canadian poetry site Writers in electronic residence at Macleans.

In Canada the Canada Council holds the purse strings.

The University of Victoria has several writing links and a decent creative writing department to go with them.

Cariboo College, in Kamloops British Columbia, has a very interesting Earle Birney site.

When I was a young whipper-snapper in the Kootenays John Lent was encouraging young people to write. I am delighted to provide a link to this very good writer.

Canadian Literature has been promoting Canadian poetry for a long time. For that reason alone they deserve to be linked.

I discovered Paul Lima's Page while surfing. His poetry is clear and his stories remind me of my youth, so take a look.

Treeline is a quarterly, electronically published magazine dedicated to promoting Canadian Literature and Arts.

The Canadian Poet Registry claims to be a "who's who" of Canadian Poetry, but I know hundreds who aren't listed there.

The Canadian Dream Gallery claims to showcase some of Canada's most promising young poets, but a hard drive crash has left their selection rather thin.

Cariboo College in Kamloops has several pages dedicated to the works of Canadian writers and artists. Among them is a page dedicated to Earle Birney (listed above) and to Michael Ondaatje. Beware, these page auto-load plug ins.

Pottersfield offers a listing of Canadian Writers' Organizations and Publishing Houses.
